India Foundation supports the Atma Jyoti Residential Blind Girls School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. It is home to more than 40 blind girls. Without the school’s care and support, these girls would have little chance of an education or a future.

A regular school day

The girls go to regular schools and study alongside sighted children. When they come home, teachers at the residential school help them with homework. Some of the girls have done better than their classmates.

The girls also learn music, weaving, yoga and gardening, so they can grow into successful, contributing members of society.
